i may sound like a bit of a cynic when i say that i believe valentines day has become a bit too commercialized for my taste. i think that it is vital to let the people you love know more than once a year that you love them, which i think most of us are aware of and hopefully practice. that being said, i love the idea of celebrating love.
husband gave me this book right after we were married, just because he felt like it. he just brought it home for me one random day and had written a beautiful and heartfelt note on the inside of the front cover. and i was so touched by his gesture and by the book itself, i'm sharing it with all of you, not just as a recommendation for v day, but for any other day you want that special person in your life to know that you love them. because every day should be valentines day. [sans commercialization of course. :)]

There be my gift idea, although getting Josh a book might not be the best idea.
All I can say is that anything I do this year will no doubt trump last year, as I was in a semi coma in the ICU.
Am loving this idea. And also, another one; from the Ensign, no less: Instead of a card, buy a nice notebook, then write a love letter in it; have your lovey keep it in an attainable place, and write random kind thoughts or appreciations in it throughout the year, so when he picks it up again, he will be surprised to read MORE reasons as to why you love him so.
great idea shan! thanks for sharing.
