Eyeshadow 101, part two: Glorious greens

As you can probably guess from the title of this post, this eyeshadow 101 installment will focus on you gorgeous girls with gloriously green eyes. (Did I get a bit carried away with the alliteration? Probably. He hee.) This post also applies to my lovely hazel eyed girls whose eyes are dominantly green toned.

I think green eyes are so intriguing on their own, that the last thing you would want to do is choose an eyeshadow that detracts from them. A lot of people will claim that green eyeshadow is the way to go, but I have to respectfully disagree. Green eyed girls, your signature colors are going to be in the purples and plums family. Pearls are a great highlight color for you and Greys are a nice compliment as well. Sephora actually has a lovely product called Colorful Pro Eyeshadow Palette-Green Eyes that I think would be an excellent start to your foray into fabulous eyeshadow.

eyeshadow colors from left to right: shimmering dark grey, rich olive, light grey, cream pearl, petal beige and shimmering warm russet

For an everyday eye

Step One: Use Petal Beige on lids with a superfine dusting of the same color on your brow bone (aka underbrow region)
Step Two: Use Shimmering Warm Russet on the crease
Step Three: BLEND

For a dramatic eye

Step One: Use Petal Beige on lids
Step Two: Highlight the underbrow region with some Cream Pearl
Step Three: Use Shimmering Warm Russet in crease and into the corners of the outer lid
Step Four: BLENDY mcBLENDERSON
(If you so desire, line eyes with Shimmering Dark Grey shadow or another grey eyeliner of choice. Black liner tends to be a little too harsh for your eyes, so make sure you stick with a slate grey or even a brown when lining your eyes, depending on which eyeshadow colors you use. I would strongly advise sticking with a grey liner.)

Here are a few more shadows I heart:

MAC eyeshadow in Trax

NARS Single Eye Shadow in Ondine

I also like NARS Single Eye Shadow in Abyssinia, but I couldn't find a picture.

Stay tuned for part three, which will focus on your Baby Blues.
